Jesse E. Olsen is a doctoral candidate in organizational behavior. His research focuses on the application of person-organization fit, attribution, and social identity theories to explore diversity management, workforce diversity, and international and cross-cultural topics. Jesse is an instructor of human resource management and organizational behavior courses.

Through his dissertation, Jesse explores the effects of an organization's approach to diversity management on potential applicants’ perceptions of organizational attractiveness. Using research in social and cross-cultural psychology, he first develops a theoretical framework to dimensionalize diversity management approaches and explores several individual differences as moderators of the hypothesized effects. He defended his dissertation proposal in the fall of 2008 and is in the final stages of data collection.

Jesse has published his work on expatriate adjustment in Human Resource Management. Additionally, Jesse is finalizing an empirical paper that explores cross-national differences in women’s reactions to organizations’ gender diversity management efforts.

Before pursuing his doctoral degree, Jesse was a business project manager in the Merger Integration Office and Corporate Strategies Group at SunTrust Bank. Prior to his employment at SunTrust, he was the international exchange coordinator at Kwansei Gakuin University in Nishinomiya, Japan.
