Associate Professor Goutam Challagalla is the College of Management's Associate Dean for Executive Programs as well as a recipient of the E. Roe Stamps Excellence in Teaching Award. He teaches marketing management and sales management for MBA and undergraduate students. He has also taught electronic commerce and marketing and marketing analysis. Goutam is active in executive instruction and has taught a variety of marketing topics in Georgia Tech's Executive MBA program, Mid Management program, Information Technology Management program, and e-Business programs. Dr. Challagalla has participated in the International Week at ESC-Clermont-Ferrand in France for the past 4 years.
He has worked on research and consulting assignments with 3M, Andersen Consulting, Illinois Tool Works, BellSouth, Wallace Computer Services, AGCO, Prudential, RHR International, 180Commerce, and Simtrex Corp. on issues ranging from marketing strategy, business modeling, strategy implementation, market research, distribution channel design, sales performance, and customer satisfaction. He is currently working on a trade book on distribution channels.
Professor Challagalla received his PhD in marketing from The University of Texas at Austin, where he won the Outstanding Dissertation Award. Goutam has published several papers in top journals, including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and Journal of Applied Psychology.
