| | | Dr. Goutam Challagalla is Associate Dean for Executive Education and Brady Family Associate Professor of Marketing at the College of Management, Georgia Institute of Technology. He also serves as the Area Coordinator for marketing.
His research and teaching focuses on marketing management, sales management, distribution channels, business-to-business marketing, and service excellence. His research has been published in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Management Science, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. He is a recipient of the Outstanding Dissertation Award at UT-Austin and the E. Roe Stamps Excellence in Teaching Award at Georgia Tech. Goutam serves on the editorial review board of the Journal of Marketing.
Prior to becoming associate dean at Georgia Tech, Dr. Challagalla worked as Principal at Monitor Executive Development (MED), the learning and development unit of The Monitor Group in Cambridge. At Monitor, he served clients in agribusiness, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, semi-conductor, consumer packaged goods, and chemicals industries. In addition, he has worked on consulting, research, and teaching assignments with 3M, Applied Materials, Accenture, IBM, HSBC, AXA, McKinsey, UPS, GE, Illinois Tool Works, BellSouth (AT&T), AGCO, Prudential, RHR International, 180Commerce, and Simtrex Corp. He has assisted clients on issues such as developing a market strategy, developing marketing plans, designing a marketing and sales organization, customer and competitor analyses, sales deployment, distributor and channel strategy, sales performance, and customer service.
Dr. Challagalla’s undergraduate degree is from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India.
