Dr. Matthew J. Higgins joined the strategic management faculty in 2005. His research interests center primarily on firm responses to productivity changes (and challenges) and the performance implications of these decisions. In particular, he focuses on mergers and acquisitions; strategic alliances; and, the nature of the agreements underlying these relationships. Most of this research has been conducted within the context of the pharmaceutical industry. His research has been accepted for publication in a diverse range of leading journals including Science, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics and Strategic Management Journal. Dr. Higgins was also the recipient of the National Science Foundation's Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship Fellowship (IGERT). In addition his research has received funding and support from the Georgia Research Alliance, Kauffman Foundation, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and IMS Health, Inc.
