INVESCO Chair Charles W. Mulford is both a professor of accounting here at the College and a professionally qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Florida and Georgia. Prior to joining the Georgia Tech faculty, Dr. Mulford practiced public accounting with the firm of Coopers & Lybrand. In addition to winning several teaching awards, Mulford has published numerous papers in scholarly and professional accounting and finance journals and recently co-authored the book, Financial Warnings.
His research interests center in the effects of accounting standards on investment and credit decision making, earnings forecasts, the relationship between accounting-based and market-based measures of risk, international accounting and reporting practices, and reporting issues facing commercial lenders.
