A Business Plan Competition

A report by the Southern Technology Council, entitled "Innovation U: New University Roles in a Knowledge Economy," ranks the Georgia Institute of Technology as a leader in economic development and university/industry technology transfer.

The Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the world's top research universities, distinguished by its commitment to improving the human condition through advanced science and technology.

In a world that increasingly turns to technology for solutions, Georgia Tech is using innovative teaching and advanced research linked with a strong entrepreneurial and management foundation to define the technological university of the 21st century.

It is in keeping with this tradition of innovation and excellence that Georgia Tech and the College of Management created the Global Technology, Entrepreneurship, Commercialization Challenge and Business Plan Competition. This global competition is the first to focus exclusively on commercialization of technology and business plans built around technology.

The most recent competition brought teams from around the world to Atlanta in April 2004 to compete for over $100,000 in prizes. Stay tuned for more information on the next scheduled dates.

Previous competition tracks have included Technology Commercialization, Technology Business Plan, Technology for Emerging Economies, and Life Science & Biotechnology.
