The specific goals and activities of this research program will include (but are not limited to):

• Design and analyze dynamic pricing and markdown strategies for e-tailing.

• Investigate dynamic pricing mechanisms in manufacturing environments considering capacity limitations and scheduling, and opportunities for segmenting customers according to customer lead-time.

• Survey industry to identify high-need/high-impact areas and applications for dynamic pricing and collaborate with industry partners to develop, test and implement new methodologies in industrial settings.

• Investigate the role of intermediaries (such as auctions) in market-making and price-setting.

• Update traditional revenue management tools to reflect the current landscape of discount airlines and the Internet as the preferred distribution channel.
