How many team members do I need? Teams will comprise of 4 MBA students from the same MBA program. MBA programs will be allowed to register only one team.

How much will the competition cost my team? Georgia Tech will cover costs of the competition and provide meals during the competition. Georgia Tech will provide ground transportation to and from Hartsfield-Jackson Airport to your team’s hotel. Competing teams will be expected to cover travel and lodging costs. Team will also pay a $100 registration fee to complete the registration process.

Why are teams being charged a registration fee? Georgia Tech is charging a small registration fee to ensure commitment of attendance due to the small, selective nature of the competition. The $100 per team registration fee will be donated to the non-profit organization that the case materials are based on.

As a Team Leader, how do I check to see if all my team members are officially registered?
Upon completion of the registration process and payment of the $100 registration fee, an automatically generated e-mail will be sent to the Team Leader's e-mail account. The automatically generated e-mail will provide further details as well as confirmation of registration.

Can I change my team members after registration? Team members who register at the beginning of the contest must participate throughout the contest. Teams may make one (1) substitution prior to the close of registration with written approval from the event organizers.

Can my team bring a faculty sponsor to the competition? Teams are allowed to bring faculty advisors to the competition. However, no communication with the faculty advisors will be allowed during case analysis. All case analysis MUST be completed by the MBA Team Members only. Any violation of this rule will result in disqualification.

What transportation costs can my team expect to pay?
Teams will be expected to fund travel to metro Atlanta in accordance with their MBA program's travel policy. Georgia Tech will provide transportation to and from Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta. Georgia Tech has blocked hotel rooms within three blocks of the Georgia Tech College of Management, therefore no transportation will be provided during the events.

Where should our team stay while competing?
Georgia Tech has blocked rooms at two hotels with special rates. Both hotels are within 3 blocks of Georgia Tech's College of Management.
- Hotel Indigo. Ask for the Georgia Tech MBA Competition block or Group Code GTM. The Hotel Indigo rate is $115/night. Hotel Indigo has a limited number of double rooms available. Please call Hotel Indigo at 404-564-0936.
- Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center. Georgia Tech has a "rolling block" available at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center with a rate of $142/night. Please call the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center at 404-347-9440.

What is the format of the presentation? Teams will have 15 minutes to present their case analysis to the judging panel. Judges will be allowed 5 minutes of questions and answers at the end of the presentation. All technical support will be provided by Georgia Tech MBA volunteers.

How many rounds of the competition are there? There are two rounds of the competition. Both rounds of the competition will be based on the same non-profit organization and case background material. During the first round, teams will be randomly grouped into cohorts of three teams. Teams will be asked to analyze the case materials from the perspective of the non-profit. The winning team from each cohort will advance to the final round. The final round will ask for the perspective of the corporation around the same case materials.

Will Georgia Tech have a team competing? Georgia Tech will NOT compete in the MBA case competition. In parallel, Georgia Tech will be holding an internal competition with other graduate schools inside Georgia Tech only. The internal competition will be based on the same case materials, but will have a series of different questions. The outcome of the internal Georgia Tech competition will have no bearing or interference on the MBA case competition.

Who will be judging the case analysis? A panel of 3-4 judges will be judge each team's analysis. Judges will come from a variety of sources. Our sponsoring companies will provide judges. The non-profit organization the case was developed around will provide judges. Finally, Georgia Tech alumni and faculty may provide judges as well.

How will the case analysis be judged? Standard judging criteria will be given to each judge. The judging criteria will score each team on a broad range of criteria from quality of analysis to presentation, and so forth. Judges will meet and discuss each team briefly following the team's presentation. At the end of the cohort's presentations, the judges will convene to determine the winner of the cohort based on the judging criteria.

How can I register a team for the competition? Being the inaugural competition, Georgia Tech will be targeting schools and sending invitations directly to specific programs. If your program wishes to be considered for the Intersections MBA Case Competition, please contact intersections@mgt.gatech.edu. Currently, the Intersections MBA Case Competition will be limited to 9 competing MBA teams.

Beyond the schedule of events, what else can my team do while visiting Atlanta? Georgia Tech's College of Management is located in the heart of vibrant, Midtown Atlanta. Midtown Atlanta offers visitors a wide array of activities from fine dining, casual dining, and great bars and clubs. Midtown Atlanta is also a short train ride from Downtown Atlanta which is home to many popular tourist destinations such as the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coke, and Centennial Olympic Park to name a few.
