Teams: Inivtations will be sent to the top 30 MBA programs in the world. Invited programs will be asked to select a team of four students to represent their school. The competition will consist of 9 competing teams. A registration fee of $100 per team will be required to ensure the attendance of accepting teams. All registration fees will be donated to the non-profit organization the case was developed around.
Prizes: $15,000 in prize money.
The winning team will receive $6,000 plus a donation of $1,500 will be made to a non-profit of their choosing (as a matching donation from a corporation).
The second place team will receive $4,000 plus a donation of $1000 will be made to a non-profit of their choosing
The third place team will receive $2,000 plus a donation of $500 will be made to a non-profit of their choosing.
Timeline: Competing teams will arrive at Georgia Tech Thursday evening (1/17/08) or Friday morning (1/18/08). Teams will be randomly paired into cohorts of 3 teams. The winning team from each cohort will advance to compete in the final round on Saturday afternoon (1/19/08). The final round presentation will be based on the same non-profit organization and background information. However, the strategy and analysis will be developed from a different perspective.
