Corporate leaders can explore business opportunities in South Korea, America's sixth largest export market, at the College of Management's 11th annual Georgia Tech Global Business Forum on April 27.
Titled "Doing Business with Korea - Gateway to Northeast Asia's Markets," the conference will run from 8 AM-5 PM at the Georgia Center for Advanced Telecommunications Technology (250 14th Street NW).
Organized by the Georgia Tech Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) and presented by United Parcel Service, the forum will help attendees identify market opportunities in South Korea, overcome regulatory and cultural obstacles, and understand the evolution of the country's business environments.
"Over the past few years, South Korean officials have stressed the importance of foreign participation in their economy," says CIBER Executive Director John McIntyre. "This huge opportunity has not gone unnoticed by America's European and Asia-Pacific competitors who are increasingly focusing their business efforts in South Korea, a true gateway to the dynamic markets of Northeast Asia."
Focusing on numerous business sectors, the forum will feature executive briefings and detailed presentations by leading economic experts, seasoned corporate strategists, legal specialists and top government trade officials. During Global Forum Candid Industry Panels, experts will discuss proven strategies for outsourcing, exporting, joint venturing, manufacturing, and providing services in South Korea.
The forum is designed for business decision-makers; export, marketing and operations managers; strategic business planners; legal practitioners; consultants; and academics with a special interest in the region. "We suggest sending a team of executives to the forum because pursuing international markets affects the entire company," McIntyre says.
Following the forum, the annual dinner of the Korea-Southeast United States Chamber of Commerce will be held in the GCATT building with a reception in honor of South Korea and the Consuls-General of the Atlanta Corps.
