Only one business student per year is selected to receive the $10,000 scholarship, which is administered by the Charles B. Eberhart Cancer Center of DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur. The scholarship was established to honor the memory of A. Worley Brown, a local businessman and philanthropist. Applicants must submit essays detailing their leadership-based accomplishments in academic, athletic, professional, or personal experiences. A committee that includes Brown's widow, Lou Jewell Brown, interviews all finalists and selects the winner.
