Master's Program Evolves into Executive MBA in Management of Technology spacer

Article Published On:

Georgia Tech College of Management now offers an Executive MBA in Management of Technology (EMBA-MOT) for rising professionals in tech-heavy fields.

Recently approved by the University System of Georgia's Board of Regents, the degree is not exactly new. It's an evolution of the Master of Science in Management of Technology, started in 1995. The College has expanded the curriculum to make it a full-fledged MBA.

The 19-month EMBA-MOT program is designed for technical and business professionals who are ready to transition into upper management and strategic management roles. They can earn their degrees while continuing to work full-time.

"Teaching students how to quickly translate cutting-edge technologies into new products and services, the program enhances traditional MBA coursework with its emphasis on entrepreneurship, innovation, change management, technology forecasting, and global issues," explains College of Management Dean Steve Salbu. "If your company is heavily involved with or impacted by new technologies, the Executive MBA in Management of Technology might be the right option for you."

In its previous form, the program established an impressive track record of taking professionals to the next level in their careers. Salbu believes that interest in the program will be even greater now that it has evolved into EMBA-MOT.

A sister program, the Global Executive MBA, has seen exponential growth in popularity as more professionals recognize that the boardroom is as likely to be in Bangalore or Beijing as in Atlanta or New York. Established in 2005, the 17-month program enhances traditional coursework with international perspectives on finance, operations, economics, and marketing.

"Both of our executive MBA programs offer access to Georgia Tech College of Management's world-class faculty and state-of-the-art facilities in Midtown Atlanta's Technology Square," Salbu says. "With the right people and programs in the right place, we're creating a new standard in business education."
