The Georgia Tech MBA is a two-year program requiring full-time study. Admission is in the fall semester only.
The curriculum is quantitative in nature; current students agree that a strong quantitative background will enhance learning and academic performance. Applicants from all academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Before entering, you must have taken and received a satisfactory grade in a college-level calculus course. The calculus requirement must be completed before enrollment, as you will be using these skills throughout the program. Additionally, you should have a familiarity with probability concepts prior to beginning the program.

First Year
The first year of the MBA program emphasizes teamwork while providing a solid academic foundation that incorporates our emphasis on global technology management. You will take a series of foundation courses that form a common core of knowledge and provide the basis for your second year electives. You will also take one elective in your second semester. Taking an elective during the first year before your summer internship helps develop your skills and sharpen your long-term career focus. To ensure smaller classes, first-year courses generally are offered in two sections.

Summer Internship
During the summer semester between your first and second years, we encourage you to participate in a summer internship. Summer internships provide an opportunity to apply the managerial theories you learned in your first year in a business environment and to fine tune your particular career objectives.
Second Year
During the second year, you will design your own concentration. You will build upon first-year core courses and acquire specific areas of competency through the selection of elective courses related to your career goals. The versatility provided by elective courses will enable you to develop one or more areas of concentration. Electives may be taken in any combination of areas, and you may design your own concentration based on your career interests and personal needs.
The electives you select may be interdisciplinary rather than segmented along traditional department lines. We will be happy to help you develop your own unique concentration.
