Atlanta is recognized among the best American cities in which to live and work. It is consistently ranked among the top ten cities in the US for its dynamic business and employment opportunities. For example, Georgia was recently reported as site of the “fastest growing high-tech workforce in the nation”. As a global center of commerce, Atlanta is home to more than 1,200 international businesses. Headquarters for AGCO, CNN, The Coca Cola Company, Delta Air Lines, Genuine Parts, The Home Depot, Newell Rubbermaid, Southern Company, SunTrust Banks, Turner Broadcasting System, and UPS are located within the metropolitan area of Atlanta.

How is the social life on campus and within the MBA program?
Students in the MBA program find Georgia Tech can be a community within itself. The campus offers a wide variety of intramural sporting events, arts and crafts workshops, drama and theater, and may other activities. MBA students often meet at the end of the week to socialize at area restaurants and gathering places. MBA student organizations sponsor community and public service events, student/faculty mixers, and tournaments. The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and Georgia Tech’s Stinger bus system provide convenient transportation and access to downtown and other metropolitan Atlanta areas. For those looking for adventure, many students take road trips to neighboring states, go rafting on the Chattahoochee River, or cycle or in-line skate through nearby Piedmont Park. Georgia Tech and Atlanta offer an unlimited variety of social events and activities to meet the interests of MBA students.

What is the Graduate Students in Management (GSM) organization?
Each MBA student is a member of the Graduate Students in Management (GSM) organization, the main purpose of which is to foster student involvement, leadership roles and interaction in the MBA program. In addition to social activities, GSM arranges networking events with alumni, organizes intramural sporting teams, promotes a guest speaker series, and works closely with the faculty and administration to upgrade both our programs and facilities.

Do MBA students participate in community service events?
Many MBA students are actively involved in community service and believe that volunteering is an important part of their lives.
